Oatmeal Bread Recipe

Pour 2 cups boiling water over 1 cup rolled oats and 1 tbsp. shortening. When nearly cold add 1/4 cake yeast, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1 quart and 3 tbsps. white flour mixed with 1 teasp. salt. Beat 15 minutes, cover, etc. Bake nearly an hour. This may require more flour, as all flours do not thicken alike.
