Spice Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon clove
Directions
Mix and sift dry ingredients, add butter, sugar, eggs and milk, and beat until smooth. Bake in a moderate oven forty minutes. One cup chopped raisins, or one cup chopped dates may be added to this cake.
