Old-fashioned Coconut Cream Candy

Ingredients

1 cup of grated coconut
2 teacupfuls white sugar
1/2 teacupful sweet cream or milk
milk and water half and half or water alone
1 scant teaspoon butter

Directions

Let boil fifteen minutes and then stir in coconut. Pour in pans and cut lengthwise when partly cool, or drop by spoonfuls on butter paper. Some omit the butter.
