Batter Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water

When partly cool add:

  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, rubbed smooth in a little cold water

Directions

Heat over the fire until it thickens sufficiently.
