Manhattan Cocktail
Mix 1/2 cup Italian vermouth, 1 cup rye whiskey, 1 1/2 teasps. bitters, a little lemon peel, 1/2 teasp. gum syrup. Shake with plenty of ice, and pour into glasses containing a Maraschino cherry.
