Method for cutting glass bottles
Useless bottles may be turned into jelly glasses and jars by cutting off the top down to any required depth. Take common cotton cord and wrap two or three times around the bottle, a very little below where it is to be divided. Drop alcohol slowly on the cord until it is well saturated, then ignite with a match. When the flame has about died out, pour on a very little cold water, and it will immediately separate as smoothly as if cut.
