Recipe for Bran Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 yeast-cake
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 5-6 cups bread flour
- 1 cup bran
Directions
- Mix sugar, shortening, and sat in a mixing bowl.
- Pour in milk and 1 cup of water.
- Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup of warm water. Add to the rest of the ingredients.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir thoroughly.
- Allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size.
- Knead the dough and shape into loaves.
- Bake the loaves in greased pans.
