  1. Mix sugar, shortening, and sat in a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour in milk and 1 cup of water.
  3. Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup of warm water. Add to the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir thoroughly.
  5. Allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size.
  6. Knead the dough and shape into loaves.
  7. Bake the loaves in greased pans.
