How to Make Cornmeal Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2/3 cup cornmeal
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 yeast cake
Directions
- Put the milk and water in a double boiler and cook until it is scalding hot.
- Stir in the cornmeal and cook for a half hour.
- Pour mixture into a bread raiser and allow it to cool.
- Add salt and yeast.
- Gradually beat in the flour.
- Allow dough to rise to double its size.
- Knead on a floured surface.
- Mold dough into loaves and place into greased bread pans.
- Bake.
