How to Make Spoon Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tablespoonfuls butter
- hot water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°
- Mix the cornmeal with enough hot water to make a mushy consistency.
- Add salt and butter. Allow the mixture to cool.
- Stir in the eggs.
- Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to the rest of the ingredients.
- Pour mixture into a deep greased pan.
- Cook for 30-45 minutes.
