  1. Scald milk and let cool.
  2. Dissolve yeast in water and add the mixture to the milk.
  3. Sift the salt and flour together. Add to the liquid mixture.
  4. Cream the lard, butter, and sugar, then add them to the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Dredge the fruit with flour and add to the dough.
  6. Knead dough thoroughly and allow it to rise.
  7. Divide dough into loaves and place them into bread pans.
  8. Bake.
