How to Make Sweet Cornmeal Muffins
Ingredients
- 1 cup corn-meal
- 2 cups cold water
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1/2 cup light brown or maple sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and cold water. Let stand overnight.
- Add shortening, soda, and hot water. Stir thoroughly.
- Pour batter into a greased muffin pan.
- Bake.
