How to Make Oatmeal Bread

  1. Pour the boiling water over the oats. Allow the mixture to cool.
  2. Dissolve the yeast cake in a small amount of warm water.
  3. Add the yeast and 1 1/2 cups bread flour. Let sit until it becomes spongy.
  4. Add salt and enough additional flour to make a stiff dough. Allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size.
  5. Divide dough into two equal halves and place each into a greased pan.
  6. Allow the dough to rise again.
  7. Bake.
